The team developing P_sense is led by Dr Panagiotis Manesiotis, at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Queen’s University Belfast. Initial work on the development of optically responsive anion receptors was conducted by Bert Bolen and progressed during the PhD work of Amanda Bole. Funded by Invest NI, Dr Leila Moura and Dr Federica Pessagno progressed the sensor to a prototype level. Development work is currently led by Andrew McClure, funded by an Innovate UK grant with Inov8 Systems Ltd.

Commercial development is co-ordinated by Dr Jason Wiggins from the Research and Enterprise office of QUB.
